WE29C is a short-throw lens for the 0.65/0.66/0.67 panel group (Sharp, Daoxing), with a throw ratio of 0.5–0.6:1 and lens shift. It is compatible with 3 models from 2 model series. This article presents the lens specifications, installation distances, model compatibility list, and replacement considerations in one place.
1. Lens Specifications
| Model | WE29C |
| Internal Model | L64-055 |
| Series | WE Series |
| Throw Ratio | 0.5–0.6:1 |
| Lens Shift | Horizontal ±35% · Vertical ±10% |
| Compatible Panel Size | 0.67 inches |
| Compatible Models | 3 models / 2 model series |
| Warranty | 12 months; damage not caused by the user is covered by after-sales service, based on the date on the shipping document |
Lens shift capability is the key differentiator of this lens. The shift range of ±35% horizontally and ±10% vertically allows the projector to be installed off the screen centerline, with the image repositioned through lens shift rather than keystone correction. Keystone correction has a cost—each adjustment causes a loss of effective pixels and blurs text edges. In professional installations, lens shift should always be used instead of keystone correction when possible; this is the minimum standard for image quality.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This lens has a zoom range of 0.5–0.6:1, so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. The lens can be focused at any distance within that range during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 1.07 – 1.29 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 1.29 – 1.55 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 1.61 – 1.93 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 2.15 – 2.58 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not account for ventilation and cable-routing space behind the chassis. They are calculated for a 16:10 aspect ratio; actual values are subject to on-site measurements and the manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: the image is brighter with slightly softer edges toward the short end, while edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower toward the long end. Where site conditions allow, the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift—adjusting both variables at once makes accurate alignment difficult.
3. Compatible Models (3 Models: Sharp, Daoxing)
The following table is ordered by model production date, from newest to oldest. It lists each model's resolution, brightness, and zoom ratio for the factory-supplied lens to help identify the most suitable option for each project.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution | Zoom Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| DJ-110H01 | 11000 lumens | WUXGA 1920×1200 | — |
| XP-P601Q-W | 6000 lumens | 4K 3840×2160 | 1.6X |
| XP-P721Q-B | 7200 lumens | 4K 3840×2160 | 1.6X |
The zoom ratio is the zoom factor of the model's factory-supplied standard lens (upper limit ÷ lower limit of the throw ratio range), not the zoom range of the lens described in this article.
Common Features of These Models
The factory-supplied standard lenses for the 3 models generally have throw ratios around 1.25-2.0:1. The 0.5–0.6:1 model described in this article effectively adjusts the focal range, allowing the same projection distance to produce a different image size—this is the direct reason for replacing the lens. It also retains full lens shift capability, so the image can still be properly aligned after changing the focal range.
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the panel size and resolution. This model is designed for 0.67-inch panels. Projectors with different panel sizes or resolutions will have somewhat different projection performance; checking the chassis nameplate before installation is the safest approach.
- Check the interface and locking mechanism. Interfaces generally offer good compatibility within the same platform generation, but the positions of the locking latches vary between generations. If the image appears skewed or the edges are not sharp after installation, the lock is usually not fully engaged; this is not an issue with the lens itself.
- Include lens shift margin in the installation plan. The shift range provides some installation flexibility, but edge image quality declines when it is pushed to its limits. For actual use, keep the shift within 70% of the specified values.
For models not on the list, it is safer to send us the chassis nameplate and a photo of the original lens for verification—same-generation platforms often share interfaces, but ordering based only on a similar model name carries unnecessary risk.
