Digital Projection ILS-08 Long-Throw Lens: Fits E-Vision 8500 and Titan 8700

Digital Projection Genuine Lens ILS-08 is an original optical accessory for Digital Projection professional projectors. It is a Long Throw lens with a 2.28-3.80:1 (Long Throw) throw ratio for 0.95inch 3DLP(E-Vision/Titan) panels. The factory model compatibility list covers 2 models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—there is no need to improvise with an adapter ring. The value of an original lens lies not in the additional figures in its specification table, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel are all as designed, eliminating the need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are subject to the original manufacturer's specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type are not shown in the specification table; please verify them with us based on the projector model. Ordering directly based on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

2. Converting Throw Ratio into Installation Distance

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens with a 2.28-3.80:1 (Long Throw) throw ratio. A given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and the lens can be brought into focus anywhere within that range during installation.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 4.90 – 8.17 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 5.88 – 9.80 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 7.35 – 12.25 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 9.80 – 16.34 m

The distances shown are the clear distances from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for cooling and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be verified by on-site measurement and confirmed against the original manufacturer's manual.

Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: at the near end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. Where space permits, use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the position that gives the sharpest image using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.

3. Compatible Projector Models (2 units)

The table below is taken from the factory model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where data is unavailable, “—” is shown, without making any assumptions.

ModelBrightnessResolution
E-Vision 8500——
Titan 8700——

To determine whether a model not on the list is compatible, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and existing lens for verification—same-generation platforms often share the same mount, but it is not worth the risk of ordering solely because the model names are similar.

Throw Ratio by Projector Model Series

The same ILS-08 lens is used with the series listed below, but the nominal throw ratio varies by series, so use the value for the actual projector series when selecting a lens.

4. Three Things to Confirm Before Replacement

  • The panel size must match. ILS-08 is designed for 0.95inch 3DLP(E-Vision/Titan) panels. Even if the lens physically fits the mount, projectors with a different panel size or resolution will have problems with the image circle and edge illumination.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 2.28-3.80:1 (Long Throw). Use the table in Section 2 with the dimensions of your installation site. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and a zoom lens should also leave 10–20 cm of margin at both ends.
  • Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount used on that projector series. After installation, you must hear the locking mechanism engage fully. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a fault in the lens itself.

If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one photo of the existing lens nameplate, then send them to us. Verification against the physical items is the most reliable approach.
