Vivitek OEM Lens D99-4070 Ultra Long Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Vivitek professional projectors. It is a long-throw (Long Throw) lens with a 4.00-7.00:1 throw ratio for DU/DW/DX engineering-series panels in inch sizes. The OEM compatibility list covers 4 models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—there is no need to improvise with adapter rings. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra figures it adds to a specification sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications

The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please verify them with us using the projector model. Ordering directly based on a similar model carries the risk of a fitment failure.
II. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (4.00-7.00:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances; the lens can focus anywhere within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 8.60 – 15.05 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 10.32 – 18.06 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 12.90 – 22.57 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 17.20 – 30.10 m |
The distances above are the net distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not account for rear housing ventilation and cabling space. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be confirmed through on-site measurements and the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the near end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, use the middle of the range. After installation, find the sharpest position on the focus ring first, then fine-tune the shift.
III. Compatible Models (4 Models)
The following table is taken from the OEM compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable values are shown as “—”, with no assumptions made.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| DU9053Z-BK | 21000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9055Z-BK | 24000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9057Z-BK | 27000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9059Z | 30000 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
To determine whether a model outside the list can be used, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification—same-generation platforms often share the same mount, but it is not worth taking the risk of ordering based on a similar model.
Throw Ratio by Projector Series
The stated throw ratio differs by series when the same D99-4070 Ultra Long Zoom lens is used on the following series; choose the value based on the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 4.00-7.00:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- The panel size must match. D99-4070 Ultra Long Zoom was designed for DU/DW/DX engineering-series panels in inch sizes. For a projector with a different panel size or resolution, even if the mount fits, image-circle coverage and edge illumination may be compromised.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a stated throw ratio of 4.00-7.00:1. Use the table in Section II to determine the distance for your venue; a fixed-focus lens provides no adjustment margin, and a zoom lens should also allow 10–20 cm of extra clearance at both ends.
- Check the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount of the corresponding projector series. After installation, you should hear the lock engage fully. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
