BenQ Original Lens 5J.JDH37.011 Wide Zoom is an original optical accessory for BenQ engineering projectors. It is a standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) with a throw ratio of 1.10:1 - 1.30:1. The factory compatibility list covers 5 models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size, with no need to improvise using adapter rings. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra rows of figures on the spec sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series: once fitted, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel are all at their design values, with no need to compensate for image quality using keystone correction.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | BenQ (BenQ) |
| Lens Model | 5J.JDH37.011 Wide Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.10:1 - 1.30:1 |
| Product Type | Standard Throw |
| Compatible Models | 5 models |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by the user, subject to the date shown on the shipping invoice |
The above specifications are subject to the original manufacturer's specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table should be verified with us according to the projector model; ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original zoom lens (1.10:1 - 1.30:1) provides a range of installation distances for the same image size, and it can be focused at any position within this range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 2.37 – 2.79 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 2.84 – 3.35 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 3.55 – 4.19 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 4.73 – 5.59 m |
The above distances are net distances from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include clearance for cooling at the rear of the projector or for cable connections. These values are calculated for a 16:10 image; the actual distances should be confirmed through on-site measurement and are subject to the original manufacturer's manual.
Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the near end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. When the venue allows, we recommend positioning the lens in the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (5 Models)
The table below is taken from the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are listed according to the model database; where the data cannot be retrieved, "—" is shown rather than making an assumption.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| HT6050 | 2000 lumens | 1920x1080 |
| PU9220 | 5000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| PU9220+ | 5000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| PX9210 | 6000 lumens | 1024x768 |
| W8000 | 2000 lumens | 1920x1080 |
For compatibility with a model not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so that we can verify it. Projector platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but the risks of ordering based only on a similar model are not worth taking.
Throw Ratio by Projector Series
The same 5J.JDH37.011 Wide Zoom lens offers different nominal throw ratios when fitted to the series below, so select the value based on the series of your actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.10:1 - 1.30:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector chip and resolution. The original lens is designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specification differs, the image circle cannot cover the full frame, resulting in vignetting or light loss at the edges.
- Calculate the installation distance first. Use the table in Section II to calculate the distance for your venue based on this lens's rated throw ratio of 1.10:1 - 1.30:1. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends of the range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount of that projector series. After installation, you must hear the lock engage fully. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, rather than by a defect in the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one photo of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual items is the safest approach.
