Panasonic Original Lens ET-DLE170 is an original optical accessory made by Panasonic for Panasonic professional projectors. It is a long-throw lens with a 1.71-2.41:1 throw ratio for a 0.67-inch 1DLP panel. The factory compatibility list covers 30 projector models, so before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—no adapter-ring workaround is needed. The value of an OEM lens is not the extra few lines of figures in the spec sheet; rather, its optical path and mount are calibrated at the factory for that projector series. Once it is fitted, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel are all at their design values, eliminating the need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are subject to the original manufacturer’s specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not listed in the specifications table, please contact us with the projector model for verification. Placing an order solely because the model numbers are similar carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (1.71-2.41:1). For a given image size, it covers a range of installation distances, and it can focus anywhere within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 3.68 – 5.18 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 4.41 – 6.22 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 5.51 – 7.77 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 7.35 – 10.36 m |
The values above are clear distances from the lens front surface to the screen and do not include space at the rear of the projector for cooling and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be verified on site and are subject to the manufacturer’s manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the near end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. If the venue allows, we recommend positioning the lens in the middle of the range. After installation, find the sharpest position using the focus ring first, then fine-tune the lens shift.

For a model not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification—projectors based on the same-generation platform often share a mount, but it is not worth ordering based solely on a similar model.
Throw Ratio by Projector Series
When the same ET-DLE170 is installed on the series listed below, the rated throw ratio is not the same; for model selection, use the value for the series of the actual projector.
| Projector Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.71-2.41:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Make sure the panel size matches. ET-DLE170 is designed for a 0.67-inch 1DLP panel. Even if the mount fits, a projector with a different panel size or resolution may have problems with image circle coverage and edge illumination.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.71-2.41:1; use the table in Section II to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens should allow a 10–20 cm margin at both ends.
- Check the mount and locking mechanism. OEM lenses are calibrated to the mount used on that projector series, and you must hear the lock engage fully after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by an incompletely locked mount, not by the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens’s nameplate and send them to us. Checking the actual hardware is the most reliable approach.
