Genuine Optoma Lens BX-CTA06 Standard Zoom is a factory-supplied optical accessory for Optoma professional projectors. It offers a standard throw (Standard Throw), a throw ratio of 1.22-1.52:1, and is designed for 0.67" DLP panels in the ProScene ZU series. The manufacturer's compatibility list covers 5 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to improvise with adapter rings. The value of a genuine lens lies not in the extra figures on a specification sheet, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and mount of that projector series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all match their design values, eliminating the need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

1. Lens Specifications

The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not listed in the specifications table, please contact us with the projector model for verification. Ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine zoom lens (1.22-1.52:1) corresponds to a range of installation distances for a given image size, and it can focus anywhere within that range once installed.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 2.62 – 3.27 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 3.15 – 3.92 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 3.93 – 4.90 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 5.25 – 6.54 m |
The distances above are the unobstructed distances from the front element of the lens to the screen and do not account for ventilation and cabling space behind the projector. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be verified on site and in accordance with the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the near end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, it is recommended to target the middle of the range. After installation, turn the focus ring to find the sharpest image, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (5 Models)
The table below is taken from the manufacturer's official compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; values that cannot be obtained are shown as "—" and are not estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| ZU1100 | 11000 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| ZU1300 | 13000 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| ZU1050 | 10000 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| ZU850 | 8500 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| ZU660 | 6000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
To determine whether a model not listed here is compatible, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the current lens. Platforms from the same generation often share a mount, but it is not worth taking the risk of ordering based only on a similar model name.
Throw Ratio by Model Series
The rated throw ratio differs among the following series when the same BX-CTA06 Standard Zoom lens is used, so select the value based on the projector's actual series.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.22-1.52:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- The panel size must match. The BX-CTA06 Standard Zoom is designed for 0.67" DLP panels (ProScene ZU series). Even if the lens fits the mount, projectors with a different panel size or resolution may produce an incorrect image circle and uneven edge illumination.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.22-1.52:1; use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens leaves no room for adjustment, and even a zoom lens should allow an additional 10–20 cm at both ends.
- Check the mount and locking mechanism. The genuine lens is calibrated to the mount used on projectors in this series, and you must hear it lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the nameplate on the current lens, and send them to us. Checking against the actual products is the most reliable approach.
