2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine lens is a zoom lens (1.16-1.52:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances; the lens can be focused at any position within that range.

Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: at the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. When venue conditions allow, position the lens around the middle of the range. After installation, find the sharpest setting on the focus ring first, and then fine-tune the lens shift.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

• Confirm the projector's imaging panel and resolution. Genuine lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specification is different, the image circle cannot cover the full image, causing vignetting or light loss at the edges after installation.
• Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.16-1.52:1; use the table in Section 2 to match the dimensions of your venue. Fixed-focus lenses leave no margin, and zoom lenses still require 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends.
• Verify the lens mount and locking mechanism. The genuine lens is calibrated to the mount of the relevant model series, and you must hear it click into the locked position after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than by the lens itself.
