Vivitek Original Lens LNS-5SZ2 Standard Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Vivitek engineering projectors. It is a standard throw lens (Standard Throw) with a throw ratio of 1.54-1.93:1, designed for inch panels in the DU/DW/DX engineering series. The manufacturer's compatibility list covers 7 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to force compatibility with an adapter ring. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra rows of specifications, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and mount of projectors in that series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel are all at their design values, so there is no need to compensate for image quality with keystone correction.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Vivitek(Vivitek) |

The above specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specification table, please verify them with us using the projector model. Ordering solely because the model numbers are similar carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (1.54-1.93:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. It can focus at any point within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 3.31 – 4.15 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 3.97 – 4.98 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 4.97 – 6.22 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 6.62 – 8.30 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for cooling and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be verified through on-site measurements and confirmed in the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: near the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where site conditions allow, use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, and then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (7 Models)
The following table is taken from the manufacturer's compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where the data is unavailable, “—” is shown, and no values are inferred.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| D5380U-WNL | 5000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU5671 | 6200 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7090Z | 6000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7095Z-BK | 6500 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7095Z-WH | 6500 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7098Z-BK | 7000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7098Z-WH | 7000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
To check compatibility with a model outside the list, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the currently installed lens. Platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based on a similar model name is not worth taking.
Throw Ratios by Projector Series
The nominal throw ratio differs by series when the same LNS-5SZ2 Standard Zoom lens is used. Select the value that applies to the series of your actual projector.
| Projector Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.54-1.93:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm that the panel size matches. LNS-5SZ2 Standard Zoom is designed for inch panels in the DU/DW/DX engineering series. Even if the lens physically fits, projectors with different panel sizes or resolutions may experience problems with the image circle and edge illumination.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.54-1.93:1. Use the table in Section II to calculate the distance for your venue. Fixed-focus lenses offer no adjustment margin, and zoom lenses still need 10–20 cm of margin at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount used on projectors in this series. You must hear the locking mechanism engage fully after installation. A skewed image or soft edges usually indicate that the lens is not fully locked, rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, send us one photo each of the projector nameplate and the nameplate on the existing lens. Verification against the actual equipment is the most reliable approach.
