Appotronics Original Lens XL150MA Standard Zoom is an original optical accessory for Appotronics professional projectors. It is a long-throw lens (Long Throw) with a throw ratio of 1.50-2.40:1. The official compatibility list covers 6 models, so before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to work around the issue with adapter rings. The value of an original lens lies not in a few extra lines of specifications, but in the fact that it is factory-calibrated to the optical path and mount of the relevant projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all perform as designed, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Appotronics (Appotronics) |
| Lens Model | XL150MA Standard Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.50-2.40:1 |
| Product Type | Long throw (Long Throw) |
| Compatible Models | 6 projectors |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by the user, based on the date on the shipping document |
The above specifications are subject to the original manufacturer's specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type that are not shown in the specifications table should be verified with us based on the projector model. Ordering based solely on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens with a range of 1.50-2.40:1. The same image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and the lens can be focused at any position within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 3.22 – 5.16 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 3.87 – 6.19 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 4.84 – 7.74 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 6.45 – 10.32 m |
The above figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for ventilation and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be confirmed by on-site measurement and in accordance with the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality varies between the two ends of the zoom range: toward the nearer end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the farther end, the edges are sharper and the brightness decreases slightly. When venue conditions allow, use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, and then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (6 Projectors)
The table below is taken from the official compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable values are marked “—” and have not been estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| SK11KAS | — | — |
| SK13KAS | — | — |
| SK15KAS | — | — |
| SU11KAS | — | — |
| SU13KAS | — | — |
| SU15KAS | — | — |
To check whether a model outside the list can be used, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Same-generation platforms often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based only on a similar model is not worth taking.
Throw Ratios by Projector Model Series
The same XL150MA Standard Zoom lens is used with the series listed below, but the specified throw ratios are not identical. Select the value according to the series of the projector you actually have.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.50-2.40:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector's imaging chip and resolution. The original lens is designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or light loss at the edges.
- Calculate the installation distance first. The rated throw ratio of this lens is 1.50-2.40:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue's dimensions. A fixed-focus lens provides no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends.
- Verify the mount and lock. The original lens is calibrated to the mount of this projector series. After installation, you must hear the lock engage fully. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by an incompletely engaged lock, rather than by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate, then send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
