Optoma Original Lens WT2 Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Optoma engineering projectors, featuring a standard throw (Standard Throw) ratio of 1.22-1.47:1. The official compatibility list covers one model; simply verify the projector model and panel size before installation—no need to make do with an adapter ring. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the additional rows of specifications, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and lens mount of that model series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all operate at their designed values, eliminating the need to compensate for image quality with keystone correction.

1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Optoma (Optoma) |
| Lens Model | WT2 Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.22-1.47:1 |
| Product Type | Standard throw lens (Standard Throw) |
| Compatible Models | 1 projector |
| Warranty | 12 months; non-user-caused damage is eligible for after-sales service, based on the date shown on the sales invoice |
The above specifications are subject to the OEM specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please contact us with the projector model for verification, as ordering solely because the model numbers are similar risks a fit issue.
2. Converting Throw Ratio into Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (1.22-1.47:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. The lens can be focused anywhere within this range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 2.62 – 3.16 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 3.15 – 3.79 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 3.93 – 4.74 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 5.25 – 6.32 m |
These distances represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not account for rear cooling clearance or cable-management space. Calculated for a 16:10 image, actual distances should be confirmed through on-site measurement and the OEM manual.
Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: near the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where space permits, the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (1 Projector)
The following table is taken from the OEM compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable values are marked as “—” without making assumptions.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| EH7700 | 7000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
To check compatibility with a model not listed, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the current lens. Platforms of the same generation often share a lens mount, but ordering based on a similar model number is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratios by Model Series
The nominal throw ratio differs by model series when the same WT2 Zoom lens is used, so select the value for the series to which the actual projector belongs.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.22-1.47:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector panel and resolution.OEM lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 1.22-1.47:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your installation site. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, while a zoom lens still requires 10–20 cm of clearance at each end.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the lens mount of that model series, and you must hear it lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges usually indicate that the lens has not locked fully, rather than a lens defect.
If you are unsure, send us one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the current lens nameplate. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
