Vivitek Original Lens LNS-5LZ2 Long Zoom is an original optical accessory for Vivitek engineering projectors. It is a long-throw (Long Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 3.00-5.00:1 for the inch-size panels used in the DU/DW/DX Engineering Series. The factory compatibility list covers 10 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—there is no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra figures in the spec sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated from the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, image-circle coverage, edge illumination, and focus travel are all at their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications

| Throw Ratio | 3.00-5.00:1 |
| Product Type | Long-throw lens (Long Throw) |

These specifications are subject to the original manufacturer's specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not listed in the table, please verify them with us using the projector model. Placing an order solely on the basis of a similar model risks a lens that will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (3.00-5.00:1), so each image size corresponds to a range of installation distances; the lens can be focused at any distance within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 6.45 – 10.75 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 7.74 – 12.90 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 9.67 – 16.12 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 12.90 – 21.50 m |
The distances above are the clear distances from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include space required for rear housing ventilation and cable connections. These figures are based on a 16:10 image; actual values should be verified on site and are subject to the original manufacturer's manual.
Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: near the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. When the venue allows, it is recommended to position the lens in the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens position.
III. Compatible Projector Models (10 Models)
The following table is based on the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; entries that cannot be verified are shown as “—”, and no estimates are made.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| DU5671 | 6200 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7090Z | 6000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7095Z-BK | 6500 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7095Z-WH | 6500 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7098Z-BK | 7000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7098Z-WH | 7000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7195Z | 8000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7295Z-BK | 9000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU7295Z-WH | 9000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| H5095 | 2000 lumens | 1920x1080 |
For projector models not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Platforms from the same generation often share mounts, but ordering on the basis of a similar model is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratios by Projector Series
The nominal throw ratio varies by projector series when the same LNS-5LZ2 Long Zoom lens is installed. Select the value for the series to which the actual projector belongs.
| Projector Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 3.00-5.00:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Lens Replacement
- Make sure the panel size matches. LNS-5LZ2 Long Zoom is designed for DU/DW/DX Engineering Series panels (inch sizes). Projectors with different panel sizes or resolutions may have compromised image-circle coverage and edge illumination, even if the lens fits the mount.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 3.00-5.00:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. Fixed-focus lenses leave no adjustment margin, and zoom lenses should also allow 10–20 cm at both ends of the range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount used on this projector series. You must hear it lock fully into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than by the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate, then send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
