Genuine Barco Lens R9852094 Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Barco engineering projectors, featuring a long throw and a 2.20-3.00:1 throw ratio. The factory compatibility list covers 3 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of an OEM lens lies not in a few extra rows of specifications, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and mount of that projector series: the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel are all set to their design values, eliminating the need to compensate for image quality with keystone correction.

1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Barco (Barco) |
| Lens Model | R9852094 Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 2.20-3.00:1 |
| Product Type | Long Throw (Long Throw) |
| Models Covered | 3 projectors |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by human error, subject to the date on the shipping documents |
These specifications are subject to the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please verify them with us using the projector model. Placing an order based solely on a similar model carries the risk of a lens that will not fit.
2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This genuine lens is a zoom lens (2.20-3.00:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. It can focus throughout this range during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 4.73 – 6.45 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 5.68 – 7.74 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 7.09 – 9.67 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 9.46 – 12.90 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front element of the lens to the screen and do not allow for cooling clearance or cable-routing space behind the projector. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; in practice, rely on on-site measurements and the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the near end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest position using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (3 Models)
The table below is taken from the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are filled in from the model database; unavailable values are shown as “—” and are not estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| XDL-4K30 | 29700 lumens | 4096x2160 |
| XDL-4K60 | 59200 lumens | 4096x2160 |
| XDL-4K75 | 72600 lumens | 4096x2160 |
To check whether a model not on the list is compatible, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens. Same-generation platforms often share a mount, but ordering based solely on a similar model number is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratios for Different Model Series
The same R9852094 Zoom has different rated throw ratios when used with the following series. Select the value according to the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 2.20-3.00:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector chip and resolution. OEM lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specification differs, the image circle cannot cover the panel, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 2.20-3.00:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for the dimensions of your site. A prime lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens should allow 10–20 cm at both ends.
- Check the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount of that projector series and must audibly lock into place after installation. Image skew and soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo each of the projector nameplate and the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the most reliable approach.
