Panasonic ET-ELT23 Long-Throw Lens: Compatible with 14 Models

Panasonic Genuine Lens ET-ELT23 is an original optical accessory for Panasonic engineering projectors. It is a long-throw (Long Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 4.44-7.12:1, designed for 0.76" 3LCD panels. The official compatibility list covers 14 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; no adapter ring is needed. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra specifications it adds, but in the fact that its optical path and mount are calibrated to that projector series at the factory. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all meet the design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

II. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (4.44-7.12:1), so a single image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. Focus can be achieved at any distance within this range during installation.

These figures represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include clearance behind the projector for heat dissipation and cabling. The calculations are based on a 16:10 aspect ratio; actual distances should be confirmed through on-site measurements and the manufacturer’s instructions.

Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the short end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the long end, the edges are sharper and the brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, turn the focus ring to find the sharpest image, then fine-tune the lens shift.

To check whether a model not on the list is compatible, please send us a photo of the projector nameplate and the existing lens. Platforms from the same generation often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based only on a similar model is not worth taking.

IV. Three Checks Before Replacement

• The panel size must match. ET-ELT23 is designed for 0.76" 3LCD panels. Even if the lens physically fits, projectors with a different panel size or resolution may experience problems with image circle coverage and edge illumination.
• Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 4.44-7.12:1. Use the table in Section 2 and apply it to the dimensions of your venue. A fixed-focus lens has no adjustment margin, while a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends.
• Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount of the relevant projector series. You must hear it lock into place after installation. Image skew and soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than a problem with the lens itself.
