Vivitek Original Lens D99-1520 Standard Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Vivitek engineering projectors. It is a standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) with a 1.50-2.00:1 throw ratio, designed for the inch-based panels of the DU/DW/DX engineering series. The OEM model compatibility list covers 4 compatible projector models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to make do with an adapter ring. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the additional figures in the specifications table, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and lens mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all meet their design specifications, eliminating the need to compensate for image quality with keystone correction.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Vivitek (Vivitek) |
| Lens Model | D99-1520 Standard Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.50-2.00:1 |
| Product Type | Standard throw (Standard Throw) |
| Compatible Panels | DU/DW/DX engineering-series inch panels |
| Compatible Projector Models | 4 models |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by improper handling, based on the date on the shipping receipt |
The above specifications are subject to the OEM specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and lens-mount type not listed in the specifications table, please verify them with us based on the projector model. Ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (1.50-2.00:1), so each image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and it can focus anywhere within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 3.22 – 4.30 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 3.87 – 5.16 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 4.84 – 6.45 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 6.45 – 8.60 m |
The distances above are clear distances from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include space for rear ventilation or cable connections on the projector. They are based on a 16:10 image; for actual installation, rely on on-site measurements and the OEM manual.
Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: at the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the long-throw end, the edges are crisper and brightness decreases slightly. When the venue allows, position the lens near the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Projector Models (4 Models)
The table below is taken from the OEM model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are filled in from the model database; any values that could not be retrieved are shown as "—" without estimation.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| DU9053Z-BK | 21000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9055Z-BK | 24000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9057Z-BK | 27000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| DU9059Z | 30000 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
For models not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so we can verify compatibility. Same-generation platforms often share the same mount, but ordering based solely on a similar model is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratios by Projector Model Series
The nominal throw ratio for the same D99-1520 Standard Zoom differs across the following series. Select the value based on the actual projector series.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.50-2.00:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm that the panel size matches. D99-1520 Standard Zoom is designed for DU/DW/DX engineering-series inch panels. Machines with different panel sizes or resolutions may experience image-circle and edge-illumination problems even if the lens fits the mount.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 1.50-2.00:1; use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue dimensions. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens should allow 10–20 cm of margin at both ends of the range.
- Verify the lens mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount used on this projector series, and it must audibly click into the locked position after installation. A skewed image or soft edges is usually caused by incomplete locking, not a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, send us one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the nameplate on the existing lens. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
