Panasonic ET-EMW200 Short-Throw Lens for 19 Compatible Models

2026-11-02 15:31:42

Panasonic Genuine Lens ET-EMW200 is a genuine optical accessory for Panasonic business projectors. It is a short-throw (Short Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 0.480-0.550:1 for a 1.0" 3LCD panel. The manufacturer's model compatibility list covers 19 models; before installation, simply check the projector model and panel size—no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of a genuine lens lies not in the extra rows of specifications, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and lens mount of that projector series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all match the design specifications, with no need for keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are based on the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and lens mount type not shown in the specification table, please contact us with the projector model so we can verify compatibility. Placing an order solely because the model appears similar carries a risk that the lens will not fit.

2. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance

Throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This genuine lens is a zoom lens (0.480-0.550:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. It can focus at any position within that range.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 1.03 – 1.18 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 1.24 – 1.42 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 1.55 – 1.77 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 2.06 – 2.37 m

These distances are the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not allow for ventilation or cable connections behind the projector. They are calculated for a 16:10 aspect ratio; actual distances should be verified on site and according to the manufacturer's manual.

Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the near end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness drops slightly. Where the venue allows, positioning in the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, find the sharpest position using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.

For models not listed, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the current lens so we can verify compatibility—platforms from the same generation often share a lens mount, but the risk of ordering based solely on a similar model is not worth taking.

Throw Ratios by Projector Series

The nominal throw ratio varies by series when the same ET-EMW200 lens is installed on the following series. Use the value for the series of the actual projector when selecting a lens.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Make sure the panel size matches. ET-EMW200 is designed for a 1.0" 3LCD panel. Even if the lens mount fits, the image circle and edge illumination may be compromised on projectors with a different panel size or resolution.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 0.480-0.550:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends of the range.
  • Verify the lens mount and locking mechanism. The genuine lens is calibrated to the lens mount of that projector series. After installation, you must hear it lock fully into place. A skewed image or soft edges usually mean that the lock is not fully engaged, rather than that there is a problem with the lens itself.

If you are unsure, send us one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the nameplate on the existing lens. Checking the actual items is the safest option.
