Barco OEM Lens R9801719 GLD Zoom is a factory-supplied optical accessory for Barco professional projectors. It is a long-throw (Long Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 1.43-2.12:1. The OEM compatibility list covers 6 models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size, with no need to improvise using adapter rings. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra rows of specifications, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and lens mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all match their design values, so there is no need to compensate for image quality using keystone correction.

The above specifications are subject to the OEM specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications, please contact us for verification against the projector model. Ordering solely on the basis of a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
2. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (1.43-2.12:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of distances. Any position within that range can be brought into focus.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 3.07 – 4.56 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 3.69 – 5.47 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 4.61 – 6.84 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 6.15 – 9.12 m |
The distances above are the clear distances from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include clearance behind the projector for heat dissipation and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual installation should be based on on-site measurements and the OEM manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: toward the short end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the long end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. When site conditions permit, using the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first find the sharpest position on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (6 units)
The table below is taken from the OEM compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; entries that cannot be obtained are shown as “—”, with no values guessed.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| F80-4K12 | 10400 lumens | 2716x1600 |
| F80-4K7 | 6600 lumens | 2560x1600 |
| F80-4K9 | 8500 lumens | 2716x1600 |
| F80-Q12 | 10700 lumens | 2716x1600 |
| F80-Q7 | 6600 lumens | 2560x1600 |
| F80-Q9 | 8500 lumens | 2560x1600 |
To verify whether a model not included in the list can be used, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens. Platforms from the same generation often share a lens mount, but ordering based solely on a similar model is not worth the risk.
Throw Ratios by Model Series
When the same R9801719 GLD Zoom lens is fitted to the following series, its nominal throw ratio differs. Use the value corresponding to the actual projector series when selecting a lens.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.43-2.12:1 |
4. 3 Things to Confirm Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector chip and resolution. The OEM lens is designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 1.43-2.12:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens should allow an additional 10–20 cm at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the lens mount of that projector series. After installation, you must hear it click into the fully locked position. A skewed image and soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, photograph both the projector nameplate and the existing lens nameplate and send the photos to us. Verification against the actual products is the most reliable approach.
