NEC NP20ZL Zoom Long Throw Lens: Fits 11 Models Including PX1004UL-B-18, PX1004UL-BK, PX750U2

2026-11-01 15:21:06

The OEM NEC lens NP20ZL Zoom is an optical accessory for NEC engineering projectors. It is a long-throw (Long Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 3.60-5.40:1. The official model compatibility list covers 11 models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size, with no adapter ring required. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra specifications it adds, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and lens mount of that model series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all meet the design specifications, so keystone correction is not needed to compensate for image quality.

Warranty12 months; if the damage was not caused by the user, after-sales service is available, based on the date on the shipping invoice.

The above specifications are based on the manufacturer's official specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and lens-mount type are not listed in the specification table; please provide the projector model so we can verify them. Ordering solely because the model numbers appear similar risks a lens that will not fit.

2. Throw Ratio and Installation Distance

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM zoom lens (3.60-5.40:1) covers a range of installation distances for any given image size, and the image can be focused at any position within that range.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 7.74 – 11.61 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 9.29 – 13.93 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 11.61 – 17.41 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 15.48 – 23.22 m

These figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for heat dissipation or cable connections. The values are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be confirmed through on-site measurements and the manufacturer's manual.

Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: near the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. When site conditions permit, position the lens near the middle of the range. After installation, find the sharpest image position using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.

3. Compatible Projector Models (11 Models)

The table below is taken from the official model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution values are drawn from the projector model database; unavailable values are shown as an em dash (—) and are not estimated.

For models not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens so we can verify compatibility. Projector platforms of the same generation often share a lens mount, but ordering based solely on a similar model designation is not worth the risk.

Throw Ratio by Projector Series

The rated throw ratio of the same NP20ZL Zoom differs across the projector series listed below. When selecting a lens, use the value corresponding to the series of the actual projector.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Confirm the projector imaging panel and resolution. OEM lenses are designed for a specific panel size. When the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge illumination loss after installation.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 3.60-5.40:1. Apply the table in Section 2 to your site dimensions. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens should leave 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends of the range.
  • Check the lens mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated for the lens mount of that projector series, and it must audibly lock into place after installation. An offset image or soft edges usually indicate that the lens is not fully locked, rather than a problem with the lens itself.

If you are unsure, take a photo of each nameplate—the projector and the existing lens—and send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the safest approach.
