NEC Genuine Lens NP19ZL-4K Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for NEC engineering projectors. It is a long-throw lens (Long Throw) with a throw ratio of 2.20-3.67:1. The factory compatibility list covers four projector models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size, with no need to improvise using an adapter ring. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the additional rows of specifications, but in the fact that its optical path and mount are calibrated at the factory for that projector series: once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel all meet their design values, eliminating the need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

The above specifications are based on the manufacturer's official specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type are not shown in the specifications table; please contact us with your projector model to verify them. Ordering based solely on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

2. Calculating Installation Distance from the Throw Ratio

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (2.20-3.67:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. Any distance within that range allows the lens to focus.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 4.73 – 7.89 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 5.68 – 9.47 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 7.09 – 11.84 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 9.46 – 15.78 m

The distances above are clear distances from the front face of the lens to the screen and do not allow for rear enclosure ventilation or cable connection space. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be based on on-site measurements and the manufacturer's manual.

Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: near the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, it is recommended to target the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest position using the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.

3. Compatible Models (4 Models)

The following table is taken from the manufacturer's compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where data is unavailable, “—” is shown rather than estimated values.

For a model not on the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Platforms from the same generation often share the same mount, but ordering solely on the basis of a similar model introduces risks that are not worth taking.

Throw Ratios by Projector Series

The rated throw ratio differs among the series listed below when the same NP19ZL-4K Zoom is installed, so use the value for the actual series of your projector when selecting.

—2.20-3.67:1

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Confirm the projector imaging chip and resolution. OEM lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specification differs, the image circle cannot cover the full panel, resulting in vignetting or light loss at the edges after installation.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. The rated throw ratio of this lens is 2.20-3.67:1. Use the table in Section 2 to match the dimensions of your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, while a zoom lens still requires 10–20 cm of clearance at both ends.
  • Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the mount used on that projector series. After installation, you must hear it lock securely into place. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than a problem with the lens itself.

If you are unsure, send us one photo each of the projector nameplate and the existing lens nameplate. Checking the physical products is the safest approach.
