Barco Original Lens EN66 Short Zoom is a factory-supplied optical accessory for Barco professional projectors. It is a standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) with a throw ratio of 0.80-1.21:1. The official model compatibility list covers 19 projector models; before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size—there is no need to make do with an adapter ring. The value of an original lens lies not in the additional figures in a specification sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all meet their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Barco (Barco) |
| Lens Model | EN66 Short Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 0.80-1.21:1 |
| Product Type | Standard Throw (Standard Throw) |
| Compatible Projector Models | 19 models |
| Warranty | 12 months; after-sales service is available for damage not caused by the user, based on the date shown on the shipping documents |
The above specifications are based on the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specifications table, please provide the projector model when contacting us so we can verify the details. Ordering solely because the model designations are similar carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (0.80-1.21:1), so each image size corresponds to a range of installation distances. It can focus at any position within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 1.72 – 2.60 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 2.06 – 3.12 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 2.58 – 3.90 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 3.44 – 5.20 m |
The above values represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for ventilation and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be verified through on-site measurements and in accordance with the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: at the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; at the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, it is recommended to use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Projector Models (19 Models)
The table below is taken from the official model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable data is shown as “—” and has not been estimated.

| Heimdall | 4500 lumens | 4096x2160 |
| Heimdall Cinemascope | 4500 lumens | 4096x2160 |
| Heimdall+ | 4500 lumens | 4096x2160 |
| Heimdall+ Cinemascope | 4500 lumens | 4096x2160 |
| Loki | 12000 lumens | 3840x2160 |
| Loki CinemaScope | 12000 lumens | 3840x2160 |
For models not included in the list, please send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification—platforms of the same generation often share a mount, but the risk of ordering based on a similar model designation is not worth taking.
Throw Ratio by Projector Model Series
The specified throw ratio of the same EN66 Short Zoom lens varies by projector series. When selecting a lens, use the value for the series of the actual projector.
| Projector Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 0.80-1.21:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector's imaging chip and resolution. Original lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 0.80-1.21:1; use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, and even a zoom lens requires a 10–20 cm allowance at both ends of the range.
- Verify the mount and locking engagement. The original lens is calibrated to the mount of that projector series. After installation, you must hear it click into the locked position; a skewed image or unsharp edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the existing lens nameplate and send them to us. Checking against the actual hardware is the most reliable approach.
