Barco Original EN63 Zoom Lens is an original optical accessory for Barco professional projectors. It is a standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) with a throw ratio of 1.20-1.70:1. The factory compatibility list covers 21 models; before installation, simply check the projector model and panel size, with no need to make do with an adapter ring. The value of an original lens lies not in the extra figures in the specification sheet, but in the fact that it is calibrated at the factory to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focus travel are all at their designed values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications

| Lens Model | EN63 Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.20-1.70:1 |
| Product Type | Standard-throw lens (Standard Throw) |

These specifications are subject to the factory specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the specification table, please verify them with us using the projector model. Ordering directly based on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.
II. Converting Throw Ratio into Mounting Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the mounting distance to the image width. This original lens is a zoom lens (1.20-1.70:1), so the same image size corresponds to a range of mounting distances, and it can focus anywhere within that range.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Mounting Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 2.58 – 3.65 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 3.10 – 4.39 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 3.87 – 5.48 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 5.16 – 7.31 m |
These are clear distances from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for cooling and cable connections. The values are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual distances should be verified on site and in accordance with the factory manual.
Image quality differs at the two extremes of the zoom range: the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer near the short-throw end, while the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower near the long-throw end. Where the venue allows, the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, first use the focus ring to find the sharpest image, then fine-tune the lens shift.
III. Compatible Models (21 Models)
The following table is taken from the factory compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; where the data is unavailable, “—” is shown and no assumptions are made.

For compatibility with models not on the list, send us photos of the projector nameplate and current lens for verification—platforms of the same generation often share the same mount, but the risk of ordering based solely on a similar model is not worth taking.
Throw Ratio by Model Series
The nominal throw ratio of the same EN63 Zoom lens varies across the following series, so use the value for the series to which the actual projector belongs.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.20-1.70:1 |
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector chip and resolution. The original lens is designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the full image, resulting in vignetting or edge light loss after installation.
- Calculate the mounting distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.20-1.70:1. Use the table in Section II to calculate the distance based on your venue's dimensions; fixed lenses provide no adjustment margin, while zoom lenses should also allow 10–20 cm at both ends.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The original lens is calibrated to the mount of that projector series, and you must hear it lock into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking, not by the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of the projector nameplate and one of the current lens nameplate and send them to us. Verification against the actual equipment is the most reliable approach.
