Optoma OEM Lens BX-CAA06 Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Optoma professional projectors. It is a standard-throw (Standard Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 1.22-1.52:1. The official model compatibility list covers 5 models. Before installation, simply verify the projector model and panel size, with no need to make do with adapter rings. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the additional rows of specifications, but in the fact that it is factory-calibrated to the optical path and mount of that projector series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel are all at their design values, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

1. Lens Specifications
| Brand | Optoma (Optoma) |
| Lens Model | BX-CAA06 Zoom |
| Throw Ratio | 1.22-1.52:1 |
| Product Type | Standard Throw (Standard Throw) |

The above specifications are based on the manufacturer's official specifications. For mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and mount type not shown in the table, please contact us with the projector model. Ordering based solely on a similar model carries the risk of the lens not fitting.
2. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (1.22-1.52:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and the lens can focus anywhere within that range during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | Approx. 2.62 – 3.27 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | Approx. 3.15 – 3.92 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | Approx. 3.93 – 4.90 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | Approx. 5.25 – 6.54 m |
These figures represent the clear distance from the front surface of the lens to the screen and do not include clearance for rear cooling and cable connections on the projector. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values must be confirmed through on-site measurements and the manufacturer's manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: near the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and brightness decreases slightly. When site conditions allow, use the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.
3. Compatible Models (5 Models)
The table below is taken from the official model compatibility list. Brightness and resolution are populated from the model database; unavailable values are shown as “—” and have not been estimated.
| Model | Brightness | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| ZU1050 | 10000 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| ZU660 | 6000 lumens | 1920x1200 |
| ZU750 | 7500 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| ZU850 | 8500 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
| ZU860 | 8500 lumens | WUXGA,1920 x 1200 |
For models outside the list, send us photos of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Platforms from the same generation often share the same mount, but the risks of ordering based solely on similar model numbers outweigh the convenience.
Throw Ratio by Model Series
The rated throw ratio differs by series when the same BX-CAA06 Zoom is used. Select the value corresponding to the series of the actual projector.
| Model Series | Throw Ratio |
|---|---|
| — | 1.22-1.52:1 |
4. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Confirm the projector's imaging chip and resolution. The OEM lens is designed for a specific panel size. With a different panel size, the image circle cannot cover the panel, resulting in vignetting or light loss at the edges.
- Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a rated throw ratio of 1.22-1.52:1. Use the table in Section 2 to calculate the distance for your venue. A fixed-focus lens has no adjustment margin, and a zoom lens should also allow 10–20 cm at both ends of the range.
- Verify the mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated for the mount of that projector series, and it must audibly click into the locked position after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually caused by incomplete locking rather than a problem with the lens itself.
If you are unsure, take one photo of each nameplate—the projector and the current lens—and send them to us. Verification against the actual hardware is the most reliable approach.
