Canon RS-IL01ST Standard Zoom Long-Throw Lens for 21 Models

2026-10-30 06:04:18

Canon Genuine Lens RS-IL01ST Standard Zoom is an OEM optical accessory for Canon engineering projectors. It is a long-throw (Long Throw) lens with a throw ratio of 1.50-2.25:1. The OEM compatibility list covers 21 projector models. Before installation, verify the projector model and panel size; there is no need to make do with an adapter ring. The value of an OEM lens lies not in the extra figures on a specification sheet, but in its factory calibration to the optical path and lens mount of that model series. Once installed, the image circle, edge illumination, and focusing travel all meet their design specifications, so there is no need to use keystone correction to compensate for image quality.

I. Lens Specifications

The above specifications are subject to the original manufacturer's specifications. Mechanical dimensions, flange distance, and lens mount type are not shown in the specification table. Please verify these with us according to the projector model; ordering directly based on a similar model carries the risk that the lens will not fit.

II. Converting Throw Ratio to Installation Distance

The throw ratio is the ratio of installation distance to image width. This OEM lens is a zoom lens (1.50-2.25:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of installation distances, and the lens can focus at any point within that range.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mapprox. 3.22 – 4.84 m
120 inches2.58 mapprox. 3.87 – 5.80 m
150 inches3.22 mapprox. 4.84 – 7.26 m
200 inches4.30 mapprox. 6.45 – 9.67 m

The distances above are the clear distance from the lens front to the screen and do not include space behind the projector for ventilation and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be confirmed through on-site measurements and the manufacturer's manual.

Image quality varies at the two ends of the zoom range: near the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the far end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. Where the venue allows, it is recommended to position the lens in the middle of the range. After installation, first find the sharpest setting on the focus ring, then fine-tune the lens shift.

For compatibility with models not listed, please send us photographs of the projector nameplate and the existing lens for verification. Projector platforms from the same generation often share a lens mount, but ordering based only on a similar model name is not worth the fitment risk.

Throw Ratio by Model Series

The nominal throw ratio varies by series when the same RS-IL01ST Standard Zoom is installed on the models below; select the value according to the actual projector series.

IV. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • Confirm the projector chipset and resolution.OEM lenses are designed for a specific panel size. If the panel specifications differ, the image circle cannot cover the panel, causing vignetting or light loss at the edges after installation.
  • Calculate the installation distance first. This lens has a nominal throw ratio of 1.50-2.25:1. Apply the table in Section II to your venue dimensions. A fixed-focus lens offers no adjustment margin, while a zoom lens should also allow 10–20 cm of adjustment at both ends.
  • Verify the lens mount and locking mechanism. The OEM lens is calibrated to the lens mount of that model series, and you must hear it lock securely into place after installation. A skewed image or soft edges are usually due to incomplete locking, rather than a problem with the lens itself.

If you are uncertain, photograph both the projector nameplate and the nameplate on the existing lens and send the images to us. Verification against the actual equipment is the most reliable approach.
