LB041 is a medium-to-long throw lens for Panasonic engineering projectors, with a 1.51–2.38:1 throw ratio. It is compatible with 49 models in one model series. This guide presents the lens specifications, installation distances, model compatibility list, and replacement considerations in one place.

II. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This lens has a zoom range of 1.51–2.38:1, so each image size corresponds to a range of distances. Any position within that range can be brought into focus during installation.
| Image Size | Image Width | Required Installation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 100 inches | 2.15 m | approx. 3.25 – 5.12 m |
| 120 inches | 2.58 m | approx. 3.90 – 6.14 m |
| 150 inches | 3.22 m | approx. 4.87 – 7.68 m |
| 200 inches | 4.30 m | approx. 6.49 – 10.23 m |
The values above are the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and do not include clearance for ventilation and cable connections at the rear of the projector. They are calculated for a 16:10 image; actual values should be verified through on-site measurements and the manual.
Image quality differs at the two ends of the zoom range: near the short-throw end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; near the long-throw end, the edges are sharper and brightness is slightly lower. When the venue allows, positioning around the middle of the range is recommended. After installation, find the sharpest setting on the focus ring first, and then fine-tune the lens shift—adjusting both at the same time makes precise alignment difficult.

The zoom ratio is the zoom factor of the model’s original standard lens (upper ÷ lower limits of its throw-ratio range), not the zoom range of the lens featured in this article.
Common Characteristics of These Models
The original standard lenses for these 49 models generally have throw ratios concentrated in the 1.09-1.77:1 range. The 1.51–2.38:1 ratio of LB041 effectively shifts the focal range, allowing the same projection distance to produce a different image size—this is the direct reason for replacing the lens. It also retains the projector’s full lens-shift capability, so the image can still be aligned after adjusting the focal range.
IV. Three Checks Before Replacement
- Check the panel size. The panel specifications for this model have not yet been included. Please send us a photo of the nameplate on the projector so we can confirm them.
- Check the interface and locking mechanism. Interfaces are generally compatible across platforms of the same generation, but the position of the locking latch varies by generation. If the image is skewed or the edges are not sharp after installation, the lock is usually not fully engaged; this is not an issue with the lens itself.
- Allow extra zoom range. When measuring the distance, leave an additional 10–20 cm beyond the endpoints of the range, as transportation and installation variations may cause the required distance to fall outside the range.
For models outside the list, the safest approach is to send us a photo of the projector nameplate and the original lens for verification. Platforms of the same generation often share the same interface, but ordering based solely on a similar model number is not worth the risk.
