SC371 Projector Lens 1.05–1.59:1 for 2 SML Models: SML-L2000U, L2300U

Zorsika SC Series · Model SC371 (Internal Model D80-110) · 2026-10-28

SC371 is a medium-to-long-throw lens designed for 0.8-inch panels (SML), offering a 1.05–1.59:1 throw ratio and lens shift. It is compatible with 2 projector models in 1 model series. This guide brings together the lens specifications, installation distances, model compatibility list, and replacement considerations in one place.

The lens-shift capability is the key differentiator of this lens. The horizontal ±35.5 and vertical ±16 shift ranges allow the projector to be installed off the screen’s central axis, with lens shift bringing the image back into alignment without keystone correction. Keystone correction comes at a cost—every adjustment step reduces the effective pixel count and blurs text edges. In professional installations, never resort to keystone correction when lens shift can solve the alignment issue; protecting image quality is the bottom line.

2. Calculating Installation Distance from Throw Ratio

The throw ratio is the ratio of the installation distance to the image width. This is a zoom lens (1.05–1.59:1), so a given image size corresponds to a range of distances, and any position within that range can be focused during installation.

Image SizeImage WidthRequired Installation Distance
100 inches2.15 mApprox. 2.26 – 3.42 m
120 inches2.58 mApprox. 2.71 – 4.10 m
150 inches3.22 mApprox. 3.39 – 5.13 m
200 inches4.30 mApprox. 4.51 – 6.84 m

These values represent the clear distance from the front of the lens to the screen and exclude clearance for rear cooling and cable connections. They are calculated for a 16:10 image aspect ratio; actual values should be verified by on-site measurement and the manual.

Image quality varies at either end of the zoom range: toward the close end, the image is brighter and the edges are slightly softer; toward the far end, the edges are sharper and the image is slightly dimmer. When site conditions allow, aim for the middle of the range. After installation, find the sharpest setting on the focus ring first, then fine-tune the lens shift—changing both variables at once makes it difficult to dial in.

3. Compatible Models (2 Models, SML)

The table below is ordered from newest to oldest by model production date and lists each model’s resolution and brightness, along with the zoom ratio of its original standard lens, making it easy to identify the right option for project requirements.

The zoom ratio shown is the zoom factor of the model’s original standard lens (upper limit ÷ lower limit of its original throw-ratio range), not the zoom range of the lens discussed in this article.

Common Traits of These Models

The original standard lenses for both models generally fall within the 1.18-1.9:1 range. The 1.05–1.59:1 model featured here has an adjusted zoom range: the same projection distance can produce a different image size—the direct reason for replacing the lens. It also retains full lens-shift capability, allowing the image to remain properly aligned after the zoom range is adjusted.

4. Three Checks Before Replacement

  • The panel and resolution must match. This model supports 0.80-inch panels. Projectors with a different panel size or resolution will show some variation in projection performance, so checking the chassis nameplate before installation is the safest approach.
  • Interfaces and locking mechanism. Interfaces are generally compatible across platforms of the same generation, but the locking clip position differs between generations. If the image is skewed or the edges are not crisp after installation, the lock is usually not fully engaged—not a problem with the lens itself.
  • Allow for lens-shift headroom in the installation. The shift range provides installation flexibility, but edge image quality declines at the extremes; for actual use, keep the shift within 70% of the rated values.

To confirm whether a model outside the list is compatible, send us photos of the chassis nameplate and original lens for verification. Platforms of the same generation often share interfaces, but the risk of ordering based only on a similar model designation is not worth taking.
